We are looking for a Data Analyst that will help us discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data and help us make smarter decisions to deliver better products.  Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques and doing statistical analysis with the goal of getting actionable results to support the trading division in their cellular, financial services and retail strategies. The ideal candidate would have strong collaboration skills combined with the ability to extract valuable insights from highly complex data sets.  


  • Engage with clients to define the requirements that would meet the specific needs of a business problem.
  • Extract and combine data from various sources and analyse information retrieved.
  • Build and maintain production-ready products and reports.
  • Build analytical products that promote access to data and accelerate the time to insight.
  • Processing, cleansing and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.
  • Do ad-hoc analyses and present results in a clear manner.
  • Interpret data, analyse results and provide ongoing reports.
  • Collaborate with other teams in the business to bring analytical prototypes to production.
  • Generate actionable insights for business improvements.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operational Research, Information Systems, etc.)
  • A Master’s degree would be advantageous.
  • 3+ years’ of experience in quantitative analytics or data modelling.
  • Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Understanding of predictive modelling, machine-learning, clustering and classification techniques, and algorithms such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc. would be advantageous.
  • Fluency in a programming language (R, Python, SQL)
  • Familiarity with Big Data frameworks such as GCP.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools.
  • Competencies required:  Excellent problem assessment, decision making, communication, interpersonal skills and a self-driven team player who is results driven.
